Joe Abood specializes in office leasing, driven by his belief that the cornerstone of success is not only developing but also maintaining long-term relationships, which comes through achieving a level of mutual trust and respect. Joe draws on 16 years of involvement and relationships in the real estate industry from the construction side of the business. He specialized in interior office and tenant improvements in high-rise commercial buildings in South Florida.

Joe’s professional accomplishments include constructing approximately 1.8M commercial square feet throughout South Florida, performing as the developer’s liaison and organizing tenant coordination in the redevelopment of Shoppes at Mayfair in the Grove, consisting of office, retail and restaurant space located in Coconut Grove, FL. Other accomplishments include developing the headquarters of the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s economic development organization and transforming the dated space to a state-of-the-art office.

Joe joined Avison Young after 16 years of experience in the real estate construction industry. He served as president of his own company, Abood & Associates Construction, Inc. based in Coral Gables, FL for more than 10 years. As the leader of the company, he was responsible for all phases of project development including estimating, subcontracting, contract administration and coordination with local governmental agencies. He also served as president of American Builders & Realty in St. Petersburg, FL, where he oversaw construction and sales of new single family custom homes and managed the subcontractors and vendors/suppliers performing work on the projects.

Joe is a member of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Fellowship Circle and a member of the Vizcayans, a not-for-profit group that raises funds for Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami.
