Assistant Project Manager - Construction Management

Position Summary: 

We're searching for an assistant project manager to assist Project Managers and Superintendents in the completion of construction projects.  Provide project support from design through completion of construction, including project organization.  Interact with all project team members as necessary to perform duties and to keep all parties informed.


Duties include:

  • Assist PMs with projects of various types & sizes
  • Completes estimates with supervision of Project Manager
  • Purchases subcontracts with supervision of Project Manager
  • Assists in writing subcontracts
  • Responsible for coordinating all submittals and shop drawings
  • Reviews submittals for general conformance to the contract documents before distribution to the design consultants for approval
  • Maintains submittal and shop drawing logs
  • Review and manage subcontractor change orders
  • Compose & distribute project meeting agendas & minutes
  • Maintain project schedules and follow-up as necessary to keep project on schedule
  • Issue and track RFIs to design team
  • Level bids in Excel to compare prices
  • Prepare and follow-up on project punch list at end of project
  • Assists the superintendent in the field as the Project Manager or may be asked to act as superintendent at times.



  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project, PlanGrid, BlueBeam
  • Ability to read architectural and engineering plans
  • Ability to prepare work and present it in a clear and fluid manner
  • Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills



  • College degree a must
  • Degree in engineering or construction management is a plus
  • Industry experience of at least three (3) years required
  • Field experience a plus
