Sandra Hill is a Marketing Coordinator for Avison Young’s Houston office. She brings more than 15 years of experience in government relations, media relations and communications. She manages media and marketing efforts to elevate the Avison Young brand in the Houston region.
In addition to writing press releases, blog commentary and social media posts, she drafts and edits marketing materials and web content for the Avison Young Houston website. She also assists with writing and editing market reports and marketing materials.
Since joining Avison Young in 2017, Hill’s media efforts have resulted in a 300% increase in media exposure for the Houston office, being quoted by daily and weekly newspapers, industry magazines and websites on a consistent basis.
Sandra began her diverse professional career as a Press Assistant for U.S. Senator Phil Gramm in Washington, D.C. She then worked for Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich in the U.S. Capitol where she served as Assistant Press Secretary and Hispanic Liaison. Her responsibilities included writing speeches, drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, planning press events, and establishing a relationship between key Hispanic groups and Speaker Gingrich.
In 1998, Sandra was named one of the Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S. by Hispanic Business Magazine. During this time, she transitioned to Fannie Mae as a government & industry relations manager where she advocated homeownership issues to members of Congress on behalf of Fannie Mae. In this role, Sandra also coordinated corporate events, including events at the 2000 Republican and Democratic Conventions and the 2001 Presidential Inauguration.
