PRESS RELEASE: Industry veteran Matthew Ross joins Avison Young's New York office as a Director in Valuation Advisory services

New York - Industry veteran Matthew Ross has joined Avison Young’s New York office as a Director in Valuation Advisory Services specializing in tax advisory services, Joseph Harbert, Principal, Director of Operations for the Northeast Region, announced.

“We are delighted to have a professional of Matt’s caliber join Avison Young to offer tax strategies to our valuation clients,” Harbert said. “With nearly 15 years in the commercial real estate valuation and consulting industry, Matt has developed an expertise in advisory services, tax appeals, expert witness testimony and institutional and REIT valuations.”

Ross’s vast experience is comprised of appraising office buildings, distribution warehouses, controlled and rent stabilized apartment buildings, super-regional malls, neighborhood and community shopping centers and producing HUD Map, Yellow book, Green Acres and Red book/IVS compliant reports.

His significant assignments include managing large portfolio valuations for clients both nationally and internationally, and individual projects such as The Arc Tunnel Project for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, One and 11 Times Square, 1095 Avenue of the Americas and 200 Park Avenue.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Ross was the Founder and Principal of his own consulting firm where he provided appraisal services, focusing on prop tech and litigation support services. Previously, he was Managing Director for Valbridge Property Advisors where he oversaw a team of professionals across the United States. He began his career in commercial real estate while working as a college intern for Integra Realty Resources and remained with the firm for over a decade.

Ross is currently a candidate for designation, Appraisal Institute (MAI), which he is on track to complete in 2021. He earned a degree in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
