Position Purpose:

Avison Young is currently seeking an individual to fill an Associate position in our Calgary office. We are looking for someone who is, intelligent, assertive, reliable, and professional. The successful candidate will need to be able to use proper judgment in planning and prioritizing the workload and must have a high level of interest and aptitude for sales. We are looking for individuals who are motivated and committed to becoming successful in a sales environment who have the work ethic to ensure a high level of productivity.

The Avison Young Associate Program offers one of the most effective training and support initiatives in the industry. Individuals accepted into the program are able to gain industry experience from our qualified mentors - experts in their field - who impart their practical experience while continually acting as a knowledge-base for junior associates as they start-out in their commercial real estate career.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn professional commercial real estate transaction services related to selling, leasing and marketing of commercial real estate properties
  • Preparation of reports, proposals, contracts, letters, documentation, and invoicing – including confirming required details and collecting relevant documents and signatures
  • Respond to information requests regarding vacancies, net rent, operating costs and parking availability
  • Preparation of letters such as draft letters for offers, tenant registrations and invoices
  • Preparation of listing materials – including taking pictures, creating flyers, and preparing and sending mail-outs
  • Coordinating signage for listings
  • Prepare space surveys for tenants (gather vacancy information and floor plans)
  • Set-up and conduct tours with tenants
  • Cold calling
  • Courier deliveries- Deliver leases, deposits, etc., to tenants and landlords.
  • Gather and maintain building and listing information in database, including locating and updating floor plans.
  • Maintain and grow contact database
  • Develop networking, business development, and client relationship management skills to proactively identify business opportunities and establish relationships in order to generate business
  • Build a detailed, personal knowledge of the Calgary commercial real estate market (i.e. property types, building classes, areas of the city, utilities, zoning, rail access, land titles, lease and sale comparables)
  • This role may require activity outside of regular office hours

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ambitious self-starters with a high degree of self-confidence and motivation
  • Good overall business acumen, strong values and integrity
  • Sales Background and Experience
  • Must be proactive and take initiative

  • Must be professional
  • Proficiency with all applicable software packages, including but not limited to Google Docs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign
