John Eichler joins as Principal, focusing on delivering value to institutional landlord clients, is joined by Tyler Stark as Senior Vice President

Los Angeles, CA Chris Cooper, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the firm’s Southern California offices, today announced that institutional agency leasing industry leader, John Eichler, has joined Avison Young as a Principal and Regional Head of Southern California Agency Leasing. He is joined by Tyler Stark as a Senior Vice President in the firm’s downtown LA office. Together, they specialize in delivering value to institutional landlords in the leasing, disposition and marketing of office and mixed-use buildings, as well as land and adaptive reuse development projects.

“John is a highly regarded professional in the greater Los Angeles market, who will help us build our institutional agency leasing and capital markets strength,” said Cooper. “He and Tyler are a perfect addition to our team in downtown LA, which has a depth of experience serving the needs of institutional property management and investor clients. With their market intelligence, we can deliver end-to-end services from property management to agency leasing at a new scale.”

Eichler and Stark join Avison Young from Cushman & Wakefield. Eichler brings more than 35 years of experience and most recently served as an Executive Director in institutional agency leasing and capital markets at the firm, which he joined in 1984, after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley. He has worked across sectors with organizations such as Barings, CIM Group, ManiBrothers Real Estate, Mitsui Fudosan, Ivanhoe Cambridge, and Beacon Capital, among others.

Stark began his career with Cushman & Wakefield in 2013, after graduating from the University of California Los Angeles. Over the last seven years, he has been actively involved in an agency leasing portfolio of more than 2.5 million square feet and land development sales in excess of $100 million, working alongside Eichler.

"Tyler and I were drawn to Avison Young because of its entrepreneurial approach to client service and solutions. This is a big differentiator that allows us to make decisions at the local level and provide a nimble, tailored approach to transaction management for our clients,” said Eichler. “The firm’s exceptional investments in data analytics, consulting, research and marketing makes them second to none in our eyes, and we are looking forward to expanding its market share in Southern California and working with our new colleagues in the Avison Young family.”
