The Boar’s Head Brigade has 710 cadets who are in the process of commissioning as 2nd Lieutenants into the U.S. Army. These new officers from UNG consistently rank at the top of their class for all 2nd Lieutenants commissioned annually to the Army due to the strong leadership attributes associated with the university. The University of North Georgia also competes as a member of the NCAA Division 2 Peach Belt Conference for 13 sports.
