The Subject is located in Fountain Hills, AZ, a small masterplanned bedroom community that was established around 1970 in a county island until its incorporation in 1989 and is situated along the eastern-most edge of the Phoenix urbanized area. As of 2020, it sports a population of nearly 24,000 people and at build-out it is estimated the population will be around 25,000 to 30,000 residents. Fountain Hills garnered its name from the impressive fountain that was constructed in 1970 in the middle of a man-made lake which serves as an amenity to the central section of the small community. The fountain is the second largest in the country and the fourth largest in the world. Much of the commercial development in Fountain Hills, including the Subject, is situated within walking distance of the fountain. Surrounding the water-feature is a sizable greenbelt that serves as a park and a venue to host outdoor events.

Fountain Hills is located approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown Phoenix, adjacent to the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation which borders the town to the east. Access to the area is facilitated by the major arterial road of Shea Boulevard that connects to the Loop 101 to the west and Highway 87, which connects to the Loop 202 in Mesa. Highway 87 is the main transportation artery connecting eastern Arizona to the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
