Industry leasing activity

The FIRE industry comprised 28.9% of new leasing activity in the first half of 2025—a 25.2% increase from the same period in 2024. The second highest industry was tech at 12.6% of leasing activity, followed by law firms at 11.3%.

FIRE job postings

Approximately 88,000 jobs were posted in the FIRE industry in the first half of 2025. This is significantly above other office-using industries like tech at 37,000 and law firms with just 4,000 posted. When comparing the first half of 2024 to 2025, the FIRE industry has experienced a 31% jump in postings. 

Top-tier class FIRE leasing activity

80.9% of new deals signed in gateway markets were in trophy or class A properties during the first half of 2025. Compared to top-tier leasing activity during the same period in 2024, this is a 1.6% increase.
