About Alex

Alex Ern is a Senior Manager in the U.S. Capital Markets group, working alongside the United States Investment Sales (USIS) group and serving as a critical liaison with the Market Intelligence team. Alex rejoined Avison Young in 2026 after working as a Product Manager on the Digital & Technology team at CBRE, where he focused on data products.

Previously, Alex held a variety of roles at Avison Young within the Market Intelligence team. He began his tenure as an Analyst, later overseeing the Washington, D.C. region, before transitioning into a national role with the Capital Markets group. Alex began his career at CoStar Group as a Research Analyst covering the Manhattan office market following his graduation from the University of Virginia in 2017.

Alex’s extensive experience in data and analytics has proven invaluable to Avison Young’s clients, helping investors—from institutional to private capital—navigate complex and opaque markets by identifying value in highly nuanced environments that are often painted with broad brushstrokes.

In his free time, Alex is an avid golfer, exercise enthusiast, and produces electronic music.
