Central Texas’s emerging chip corridor: supplier proximity to Samsung Taylor

The plotted suppliers include chemical and materials providers such as ENF Technology, Dongjin Semichem, and Soulbrain, as well as engineering and equipment firms such as Toppan Photomasks and Tekscend. Over the past 24 months, these companies have announced plans for facilities located roughly 15–20 miles of Samsung Taylor, with the majority concentrated in Georgetown and Pflugerville.
Suppliers have relocated or planted their flag near Samsung to service its needs. Soulbrain and Wonik Materials are examples of major manufacturers arriving in the market, acting as a center of gravity that draws in like minded companies and generates additional demand for manufacturing facilities, logistics, and jobs.
Several of these suppliers have committed significant capital to expand their local operations in support of Samsung. Deposition Technology has added $100 million to its facility, Schunk Xycarb has added $5 million, and Soulbrain has received $11.6 million to enhance its facility.
The suppliers are indicative of permanent manufacturing and logistics facilities, which signals long term job creation, absorption of industrial and flex space, and a deepening semiconductor supply chain cluster that strengthens Austin's position, and Central Texas more broadly, as a hub.
