Professional Experience

Chris Godfrey, Principal of Avison Young Atlanta, is a Metro-Atlanta native and a graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He joined Avison Young in 2015 and specializes in third-party landlord representation focusing in the office sector. Chris has been involved with the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and Young Commercial Realtors of Atlanta. He leases more than two-million square foot office portfolio across Atlanta for his clients. Godfrey has handled numerous transactions around Atlanta ranging from small businesses to enterprise users. Notable transactions include the Emory School of Nursing (70,000 SF) at 250 E Ponce de Leon, Landis + Gyr (130,000 SF) at Milton Park and Gainwell Technologies (48,000 SF) at Crescent Centre. Prior to launching his career in commercial real estate, he worked in the staffing industry utilizing workforce and hiring best practices.

Chris was named Avison Young's Global Sean Faught Emerging Leader Award in 2022, presented to an individual who has shown leadership via transactions, the industry and community. He was also selected as the Avison Young Rising Star in both 2019 and 2020.

Chris has quickly become one of Atlanta's rising leaders in economic development having held several notable community positions, including the youngest president of the Buckhead Business Association in its fifty plus year history. He is an active member of the economic development committee for the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Board member of the Young Commercial Realtors of Atlanta and active member of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Community Board. Chris is involved in other aspects of the community through his church leadership and memberships with the High Museum of Art and Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
