David Smith joined Avison Young as an Associate in 2019; quickly rising to Vice President in 2022 and his current position as Principal in 2024. At Avison Young, every principal is a partner and owner in the business. He takes pride in client focused, value driven, collaboration with Avison Young team members across the country.

David’s primary focus is on both tenant and landlord representation in the Greater Philadelphia office and industrial market sector. With strong relationships on both a local and national level, David is proficient in advising his clients on acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. His clients include institutional investors, developers, and users alike. In his short time with Avison Young, David has proven to be an instrumental part of the Avison Young team—negotiating nearly $500,000,000 of transaction volume on behalf of his clients. In partnership with Avison Young local market experts, David’s clients have the ability to evaluate opportunities in every major market in North America, Europe, and Asia.

David is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he Captained the Men’s Lacrosse Team to a National Championship in 2019.
