About James

James Pratt is an Associate on Avison Young’s Corporate Net Lease Finance Team in New York, where he focuses on underwriting, analysis, and evaluation of corporate credits for the team’s clients. He plays an active role throughout the financing process, guiding transactions from initial underwriting through closing.

James specializes in complex commercial real estate financings, including sale-leasebacks, single-tenant net-lease assets, and build-to-suit facilities. He works closely with borrowers, institutional lenders, and equity sponsors to navigate sophisticated capital structures, coordinate diligence, and deliver efficient, competitive debt executions.

His detail-oriented approach and strong understanding of credit, lease structures, and market dynamics help drive timely closings and successful outcomes on large-scale transactions.

Prior to joining Avison Young, James was a Senior Associate at KPMG’s New York City office, where he worked on some of the firm’s largest corporate accounts.

James graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo, where he captained the varsity men’s lacrosse team.
