About Lute

Lute joined Avison Young’s Memphis office as Vice President in March 2024, where he specializes in land sales and development, agricultural and recreational farmland, commercial property sales, and tenant and landlord representation. With more than twenty years of hands-on experience in construction, concrete, and building materials, Lute brings a rare combination of trade-level knowledge and proven sales expertise to every transaction.

Before entering commercial real estate, Lute spent more than twenty years in project management, concrete operations, and bulk material sales. He still operates in the concrete business today, so he understands what it takes to develop a site such as timelines, costs, and the day-to-day realities of getting projects completed on time and in budget. That experience, along with the wide network of contacts he’s developed across those industries, shapes how he approaches every deal. Lute has always been a salesman at his core. He sold building materials by the truckload, ran the pre-owned side of the number-one Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) dealership in the country, and now applies that same drive to brokering land and commercial transactions. He knows how to find people, identify opportunities, build trust, negotiate, and get deals to the closing table.

Growing up in rural West Tennessee gave Lute a genuine understanding of agricultural land, recreational properties, and the unique dynamics of land transactions outside the metro core. As his commercial brokerage and trade expertise continues to grow, he is equally comfortable navigating a 490-acre farmland disposition in Somerville, TN, as he is remediating and selling a 1.39-acre infill site in Covington, TN, a property he closed in under one year after it had sat on the market for more than a decade. Whether the assignment involves raw land, farm and recreational acreage, commercial sales, or tenant representation, Lute’s blend of construction knowledge, relentless work ethic, and deep network of relationships makes him a valuable resource for clients across the Mid-South.
