About Peter

Peter Johnson is a Senior Director in Avison Young’s New York City office, where he leads the AY NYC Growth Technology Practice Group. He advises venture-backed companies, from early-stage startups to global, post-IPO corporations, on real estate strategies that support growth, capital preservation, and meet his clients long-term business objectives.

With deep experience guiding his clients such as LG Ads, Dandy, and Techstars, through periods of scale, Peter helps clients navigate complex office decisions by leveraging data driven workplace strategies that go well beyond the procurement of just office space. By understanding each client’s business, operations, culture, and talent goals, he helps identify cost-effective real estate solutions that support recruitment, retention, and performance during critical growth stages.

Peter’s client-first approach and consistent execution earned him the recognition as Avison Young NYC’s Top Producing Leasing broker in 2025, as well as Avison Young’s U.S. Circle of Excellence.

Outside of the office, Peter is also active in the community, serving on the Junior Board of the USTA Foundation, supporting programs that expand access to tennis and education for inner-city youth. Prior to joining Avison Young, Peter spent six years as an analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He graduated from Trinity College with a B.S. in Economics and was a Scholar All-American on the Men’s Lacrosse Team.
