Avison Young grows teams and expertise across Texas region

Austin welcomes four strategic new hires, bolstering commercial real estate development and management, capital markets and research

Austin, Houston and Dallas, TX – Avison Young continues to expand across the Texas region with additions to teams in every market in which the firm operates. The Austin office welcomed Russell Collins as VP Project Management, Mimi Fisher as Senior Property Manager, Tyler Marshall as VP Capital Markets-San Antonio, and Travis Spears as Research Coordinator this past quarter.

Russell Collins’ background in commercial real estate development and asset management spans over 22 years. His asset and portfolio experiences include new office tenant, low rise residential, retail mixed use, hotel, arena, retail space and more, including in the U.S. and New Zealand. Well-versed in the full development cycle of real estate investments, his expertise includes development oversight, capital planning, financing, entitlements, design team coordination and full project controls. 

Mimi Fisher brings more than 25 years in commercial real estate development and management to the AY team and will oversee 1.2M square feet (sf) of properties for Avison Young in Austin. She began her career in asset management and transitioned into development and construction, including land acquisitions, financing, due diligence and approval processes, physical development and construction oversight. During her nine years with JLL, she managed a 650,000 sf mixed use development on 58 acres and 19 buildings, overseeing capital planning, budgeting, construction, leasing, finance, accounting and tenant relations.

Tyler Marshall joins the Avison Young capital markets team in Austin to expand into the San Antonio market. Tyler was previously the Director of Spire’s Brokerage Services team where he handled the oversight of the company’s Dallas, San Antonio, and Fort Worth real estate portfolio totaling more than three million sf. Prior to Spire Realty, Tyler was at Peloton Commercial Real Estate. He brings more than eight years of commercial real estate experience, during which he completed lease transactions valued in excess of $300M in total revenue. 

Travis Spears joins Avison Young in Austin to provide up-to-date market research and comprehensive financial analysis that helps clients make informed decisions. Prior to joining Avison Young, Travis worked in the Texas State Senate with Senator Jose Menendez as a Legislative Aide, where he oversaw property tax and spending cap legislation.

Earlier this year, the Avison Young teams in Dallas and Houston also welcomed additions to their markets. Laura Fishback joined Avison Young in Dallas from CBRE, where she now serves as Senior Property Manager. In Houston, the team welcomed the addition of seven professionals from Stream Realty Partners, specializing in tenant representation throughout the greater Houston area and nationally.
