Avison Young negotiates sale of 56,700-sf office Northbrook building on behalf of Stepan Company

New Buyer, Josselyn, to expand outpatient mental health programs; Add more therapists

Chicago, IL – Avison Young announced it has represented Stepan Company in the sale of a 5-story 56,700 square-foot (sf) office building at 1135 Skokie Boulevard, in Northbrook, IL. 

Stepan Company, the owner and seller, was represented by Avison Young’s James Hanson, Danny Nikitas, Jordan Mellovitz and Marissa Rose based in the firm’s Chicago office.

 Josselyn, the buyer, was represented by Gail Sturm of Sturm Realty, LLC.

“Stepan relocated employees to a new location so the building was being marketed vacant,” said Hanson. “Identifying an owner/user to acquire the property was critical to maximizing value in the current market”.

Josselyn provides comprehensive mental wellness care to 3,300 clients throughout the Chicago area. The expanding, 70+ year-old organization will use the new space to provide more outpatient mental health services for adolescents, teenagers, young adults and families.
