Property Management Asset Management

Stan Yoshihara represents a unique, dynamic presence, and the visionary heart and soul of the Western Region Avison Young Asset Services team. As Principal and Managing Director of Asset Services, Western Region, Stan brings unbridled enthusiasm to an industry he views as exciting, and brimming each day with new opportunity to generate value for clients. His goal each and every day is to enjoy what he does, and to “make dreams come true for others.” As an extremely hands-on leader, Stan’s focus is centered upon client relationships and bringing real estate solutions to complex opportunities.

Born and raised in San Jose, California, the youngest of three children, Stan grew up with a father who was a professional accountant, and a mother who raised the family as a full-time homemaker. Upon heading to the University of California, Los Angeles for college, Stan discovered that the opportunities in Southern California were ideal for him, and he set down roots.

Stan says he “fell into” real estate after eight years in retail merchandising. While completing his MBA at the University of Southern California, a classmate introduced Stan to the world of commercial real estate; and at a young age, he discovered that it fit his personality to a “T”, and he was sold. Ironically, Stan’s former career in the retail industry ultimately contributed to a great deal of the expertise he employs today in helping his clients by devising creative retail concepts and strategy at all types of assets.

To sum up Stan and his role, he represents a pillar of leadership; a voice of calm; the ability to think out of the box; and he thrives on offering highly creative solutions for investors, property owners, tenants, and colleagues. As the former “Chief Visionary Officer” for R7 Real Estate (acquired by Avison Young in August, 2013), Stan brings to the table almost 40 years of business experience and imagination to his leadership role. He has a passion for working tirelessly to develop innovative ways to help clients protect and enhance their assets while providing the highest quality service available.

Equally as important, Stan spends an inordinate amount of time interacting and learning with his younger colleagues who are involved in mostly the restaurant and hospitality industry. Being a foodie himself, this aspect of his life comes naturally. An investor himself in many people outside of the real estate industry, Stan keeps abreast with the latest trends, happenings, in many industries. A superior team-builder, Stan describes himself as the luckiest guy in the world who loves engaging with people and cultivating long-term, deep relationships. This, has perhaps been the biggest contributor to his success. He likes to say that the beauty of working with people can be summed up in two words, “Relationships, baby!” Stan particularly enjoys interacting directly with Millennials who give him a different perspective of the world.

A highly devoted family man, Stan shares an amazing life with his wife of over 33 years, two accomplished sons, his custom designed Koi pond and two darling rat terrier dogs. In his off time, Stan is an excellent gourmet cook, who enjoys treating his family, friends, and clients to his culinary creations. Diverse in his passions, Stan loves working in his garden, tending his roses, reading, teaching, counseling, volunteering, playing basketball, shopping, and nurturing a koi pond that he designed and built in his backyard.
