Avison Young accelerates Southeast expansion with seven senior hires in key growth markets

New talent strengthens capital markets, office, industrial and retail capabilities in Miami, Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando and Charleston

Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL; Orlando, FL; Charleston, SC – Global real estate advisor Avison Young has strategically expanded its platform across the South region with seven new hires in key markets to meet the region’s growing demand for high-caliber real estate advisors.

In Miami, Michael Fasano joins as Senior Vice President specializing in structuring and placing debt, preferred equity and joint-venture equity solutions across various asset classes throughout the US, with a primary focus on Florida. Fasano brings over a decade of experience spanning both direct lending and brokerage with more than $2 billion in gross transaction exposure across a range of capital stacks and execution strategies. He most recently served as Director of Debt & Structured Finance at RIPCO Real Estate.

In Atlanta, Jesse Whalen and George Bonvillain join as Senior Vice President specializing in office tenant representation and occupier services across Atlanta. Whalen brings more than sixteen years of experience in sales, negotiation strategy and client advisory, most recently serving as Vice President at Bull Realty. Bonvillain brings nearly a decade of experience representing organizations ranging from entrepreneurial firms to established regional and national companies in leases, renewals, expansions, relocations, acquisitions and sale-leasebacks. He most recently served as Partner at ELIFIN.

In Tampa, Greg Kelly joins as Senior Vice President specializing in industrial sales, leasing and capital markets in Central Florida. Kelly brings over two decades of experience and has represented and advised institutional owners, private capital investors, Fortune 500 tenants, developers and owner users in approximately $800 million in sales and lease volume across 275 transactions totaling 110 million square feet. Kelly previously held senior roles at Kidder Mathews and Colliers.

In Orlando, Bill Nguyen joins as Vice President specializing in retail and office agency leasing and seller representation with experience in tenant representation across Central Florida. Nguyen previously served as Advisor at Saunders Real Estate, where he was recognized as Rookie of the Year.

In Charleston, Tyler Smith and Taylor Sekanovich join as Vice President. Smith specializes in industrial and industrial outdoor storage (IOS) leasing and investment sales across South Carolina and Georgia, previously serving as Vice President at JLL. Sekanovich specializes in retail leasing and investment sales across Charleston and previously served as Senior Associate at Harbor Commercial Partners.
