David Sherman brings more than 40 years of commercial real estate experience across Northern New Jersey, Westchester County and Connecticut
Morristown, NJ – Avison Young Principal & Tri-State President Dorothy Alpert announced today the strategic hiring of David Sherman as Principal, where he will help bolster the firm’s suburban Tri-State brokerage service line. He will be based in the firm’s Fairfield/Westchester office and focus on multi-market tenant representation, specializing in office and industrial sectors across Northern New Jersey, Westchester County and Connecticut though many of his accounts span across the country and globally.

Sherman will lead business development efforts by working collaboratively with the Avison Young New Jersey and Connecticut offices and across the U.S. to identify new opportunities in the industrial, office, including flexible solutions, sectors.
Sherman brings 40 plus years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young, having completed some of the largest office and industrial leasing and sales transactions in the country and currently handling over 2 million square feet (sf) of tenant representation assignments for various Fortune 500 companies. In his previous role, he has collaborated with numerous national colleagues on a variety of real estate assignments across the United States, with a total transaction value exceeding $1 billion in leasing and sales.

Some of Sherman’s most notable deals include AT&T’s 350,000-sf lease at Red Hills Road in Middletown, NJ, Valeant Pharmaceuticals 620,000-sf lease at 300 & 400 Crossing Boulevard in Bridgewater, NJ, McCarter & English’s 175,000-sf headquarters lease at 4 Gateway Center in Newark, NJ and General Mills’ 1 million-sf lease in Inland Empire, CA. Sherman is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and was involved in the Associate Broker Development Education and Training Program at his previous firm. During the span of his four-decade career, he has earned numerous industry awards, including Top Producer and Power Broker and is consistently one of the top brokers in the New Jersey market.
