Jim is a 35+ year veteran of the telecommunications and technology industry. As the Vice President of the Avison Young Data Center Advisory Practice, Jim works
with both enterprises and providers on their data center strategy and requirements. These efforts include RFP creation, site selection, market analysis, facility assessments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, agency representation and development of go-to-market strategies, to name a few.
Before joining Avison Young, Jim’s other experiences included being Senior Vice President of DTZ Equis Global Data Center Practice, Executive Vice President at One Equity Partners, Bank One’s $3.5 billion technology fund, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Product Development at Global Crossing, President of Global Center and Vice President of Cyber Solutions at Qwest Communications.
At DTZ Equis, Jim was a founding partner in the formation of the Global Data Center Practice. He led this team for 12 years and was successful in attracting major clients, such as Digital Realty, QTS, NTT America, Telx, Savvis, The United Nations, Harris Corp, Raymond James and Urbacon.
At OEP, he performed due diligence on technology companies for acquisition by One Equity and was responsible for analyzing technology, delivery platforms, product suites, feature sets and target markets for potential integration with other acquired companies. Some portfolio companies included Savvis, MoneyLine, Telerate & VNCi.
At GX, he was responsible for $5.5 billion in revenue and had full development and marketing responsibility for all of the company’s products worldwide. In addition, he led the GX standalone hosting company, Global Center and the company’s voice and video conferencing businesses.
