Avison Young announces lease/grand opening for new single-tenant Starbucks Coffee location in Oakland, CA

Avison Young Senior Vice President Cameron Baird and Senior Associate Andrew Rebennack represented the landlord, a private owner from the Bay Area.

Originally built in 1993, the property is situated on a .33-acre site and includes a drive-thru amenity which ultimately drew Starbucks’ interest to the site. It was formerly occupied by KFC which vacated in June 2021. Starbucks underwent a major renovation on the asset which opened for business this week.

“This location provided Starbucks with a rare drive-thru opportunity in the growing Oakland market,” said Baird. “This transaction is a prime example of a renewed interest by credit tenants in Oakland as large employers pursue Oakland’s diverse workforce and affordable rents such as Twitter who recently signed a 66,000-sf lease at 1330 Broadway.”

Baird added: “The ownership is excited to partner with Starbucks on a long-term mutually beneficial opportunity to service the surrounding community and neighborhood.”

The property is well-located on Telegraph which is a major vehicular thoroughfare with direct access to downtown Oakland from the northern and eastern parts of the East Bay and is proximate to Highway 24 and Interstate 580.
