Boston – Avison Young today announced that Chris Jankins has joined the firm as Principal and Director, Project Management, Science and Technology services. Based in Avison Young's Boston office, Jankins will manage projects in the life sciences sector, adding his 30 years of experience to the company's expanding life sciences and technology platform.

“Chris' knowledge and insight will strengthen our already best-in-class service offerings in Boston and New England’s critical life sciences sector, where many of the largest employers in our market touch a wide swath of real estate, from research space to universities, teaching hospitals and highly specialized manufacturing," said Tom Collins, Principal and Managing Director of Avison Young’s New England Region.” “As the life sciences industry continues to boom, we continue to expand our life science and technology capabilities with experts like Chris, to meet that rising demand and to assist our clients from strategy and decision-making through project management and implementation,” added Patrick Schmidt, Principal & Practice Leader, Project Management and Development of Avison Young’s Boston office.

Jankins has focused on biotechnology and life sciences throughout most of his career in construction and project management. He provides an array of valuable services to clients, including pre-construction and commissioning, contract negotiation and management, construction management, building information modeling and process. Prior to joining Avison Young, Jankins served as a Project Director at Hereva. He also held Director positions at J. Calnan & Associates, Siena Construction and Kirkland Construction. In addition to his extensive hands-on experience, he studied construction management at the University of New Hampshire and at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Avison Young's Boston office has bolstered their project management life science capabilities through recent hires and an acquisition. Steven Lacerte, who joined the firm in September 2021 as a Principal, is a 30-year industry veteran and an expert in capital programs and project management. In December, the firm acquired Dowling Houy, a Boston-based project management firm that specialized in life sciences, adding Jeanne MacLellan, as a Principal, along with several other key life science hires for the Boston team.

“I'm excited to enter this new chapter in my career as part of the formidable team Avison Young has assembled to serve the life sciences sector," Jankins said. "We understand how important project management is for these clients who rely on exacting standards and attention to detail, and we are here to see their construction work is carried out according to plan."
