Major industry job postings see spike in Fairfield County

In May 2024, Fairfield County had approximately 13,000 postings across major industries, a 33.9% increase from May 2023. This increase is a positive sign for the remainder of the year, indicating that more jobs are becoming available, despite the YTD job postings being down 18.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Among major industries, the banking, finance, insurance, and real estate sector saw the highest year-over-year increase at 54.9%, followed by nonprofits and associations at 48.6%, and consulting, research, accounting, and recruiting at 44.1%.
