As Vice President of Accounting, Bruce monitors corporate receivables and payables, manages payroll and ensures the integrity of financial statements for Avison Young’s Raleigh-Durham office.  His responsibilities include financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, risk management, cash management and banking relationships, corporate budgeting and property tax administration.

Bruce brings more than 20 years of diverse public and private accounting experience to Avison Young.  Most recently, he served as corporate controller of a privately owned, multi-state automotive dealer group.  His past experience also includes serving as corporate controller for a division of a large publically traded automotive retailer, and seven years in public accounting, working in both corporate and individual taxation, while performing small to mid-size company audits.

Bruce’s career reflects a wide range of experience.  His responsibilities have included managing payroll departments and commission functions, 401(k) administration, preparing and reviewing financial statements including variation analysis, overseeing banking relationships and cash investment activities, acting as the company’s financial liaison, and coordinating financial audits to ensure compliance with GAAP.  Bruce’s comprehensive knowledge also includes the designing and coordinating of company health insurance benefits, workers compensation, and property and casualty insurance plans.
