Grissel Barragan has over 5 years of experience in commercial real estate as a project manager, owner’s representative and construction management consultant.  Currently, Grissel is responsible for managing the planning, design, construction, budget & schedule of (6) retail build outs in New York City. Grissel develops and executes project specific and client driven goals, schedules, budgets, and strategies for project completion. Grissel has worked with clients investing in the build out of retail, multi-site, medical and office interiors.

Grissel demonstrates dedication to clients by completing project requirements in a timely manner. She ensures that all client and consultant questions and concerns are top priority and are being addressed thoroughly, throughout the duration of the project.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Grissel worked for Silverstein Properties, as part of the World Trade Center Design & Development Team. At Silverstein, Grissel was responsible for cost analysis and space planning presentations during the schematic design for the re-design of 2 WTC.

Significant projects

  • Confidential Client, NYC: Interior gut renovation of a  retail flagship for an iconic brand, currently in design development and procurement. Estimated construction budget is $12 million, 11 month construction schedule, 10,000 SF.
  • Museum of Broadway, NYC: Interior build-out of an experience driven museum celebrating Broadway shows. Currently in design development. Estimated project budget is $6.2 million, 5 month construction schedule, 26,000 SF.
  • Spectrum Mobile, Southeast: Multi-Site retail build out in Florida and the Carolina’s. Grissel managed 8 store build-outs per year. Each store is about 4,000 SF with a total budget of $1.1M. Grissel implements project controls and standards, while managing the project budget and the overall project schedule.
  • Advantia Health, Multi-Site, DMV: This portfolio included (4) healthcare build-outs throughout the D.C. metro area. The spaces range from 2,500 SF – 13,700 SF with a total project budget of $2.5 million. The planning, procurement & permitting phase took 5-6 months, while construction took 3-4 months.
