Top New York City Broker Peter Gross Joins Avison Young as Principal

Industry Veteran will Specialize in Transaction Management

New York, NY – Mitti Liebersohn, Principal and President of Avison Young’s New York office, today announced the strategic hiring of Peter Gross as a Principal specializing in transaction management.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Pete’s background and caliber join us at Avison Young, as he brings a combination of tenant rep expertise, landlord rep experience and wide connections among capital markets and residential brokers,” Liebersohn said. “Having been co-head of a brokerage division, Pete also brings managerial and mentoring skills with him that will help us develop our emerging talent at Avison Young.”

Gross brings more than 15 years of experience in tenant and landlord representation, acquisitions, dispositions and development assemblages. His expertise guiding clients through all stages of the leasing and sales process, from in-depth market research and detailed financial analyses to skillful negotiations, has led to his ongoing success in closing even the most complex transactions.

During his career, Gross has represented a distinguished and diverse group of clients, including Nexstar Media Group, The Soho House, Bank United, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kasowitz Benson Torres, New York Compensation Insurance Rating, J.D. Carlisle, Benedict Realty Group and Advance Magazine Publications and many of its affiliates including Conde Nast.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Gross was Co-head of Operations and a top senior broker for Douglas Elliman Commercial where he was the top grossing commercial agent in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Gross earned a degree in Political Science from Union College in New York. He is a licensed real estate broker in New York State; an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York and a member of the Board of Trustees at Salisbury School.
