New role for Ted Davis highlights firm’s focus on creating value for clients and on operational excellence

Toronto, ON – Global real estate advisor Avison Young is proud to announce the appointment of Ted Davis as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Canada. The promotion of Davis to this newly created role bolsters the firm’s Canadian leadership team and comes at a pivotal stage in the firm’s growth strategy.

“Ted is an exceptional leader with deep knowledge of our organization and industry, and a wealth of experience in driving revenue and operational excellence; I have every confidence that he will help fuel our future,” said Mark Fieder, Principal and President, Avison Young Canada. “Since joining the firm in 2010, Ted has been instrumental in bringing teams together to create value for clients in his market, and we are excited to see him do this at the national level.”

Based in Toronto, reporting into Fieder and Global COO, Martin Dockrill, Davis will be responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline operations across the country and ensuring teams throughout the firm have the resources to continue delivering clients the real estate experience of the future. He moves into the Canadian COO role with almost 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, including 13 years as Managing Director (MD) of Avison Young’s Southwestern Ontario region, later adding the Toronto West office. Throughout his career, Davis has established himself as a trusted partner with sharp instincts, empathy, and strong business acumen.

“I look forward to taking on this new opportunity and contributing to the continued growth of the firm,” said Davis. “Our people are the backbone of Avison Young, and I am eager to partner with them to unlock more value for clients by streamlining our operations, leveraging our holistic services, and tapping into our leading-edge technology platforms, such as AVANT by Avison Young.”

Davis’ appointment as COO will allow Fieder to focus on business development, client alignment, and strategic growth initiatives, including recruitment and acquisitions. The firm also announced that Joe Almeida, MD of Avison Young’s Toronto office, will step into the role of MD, Ontario, as a part of the firm’s structured and strategic approach to leadership in Ontario. Almeida will support Davis, allowing him to continue with his responsibilities as MD, Toronto West, in addition to his role as COO.

“These strategic changes will provide us with more bandwidth to ramp up new innovations, drive efficiencies, and respond more nimbly to client needs,” said Fieder.
