As Controller of Property Accounting, Rebecca Stvan oversees the accounting and financial reporting of over 100 properties for over 30 clients. She supervises all property accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, lease administration, property treasury, audit compliance, and lender compliance.
With over 20 years in the property accounting sector, Rebecca is experienced with multiple property asset types, including industrial, retail, office, and land. She is knowledgeable in GAAP accounting across multiple accounting platforms, including MRI and Yardi and has experience in budgeting software platforms such as Kardin and Argus. In her years of service at Avison Young, she has served as a liaison and facilitator between different levels of the organization to ensure clients receive “best-in-class” accounting services. Rebecca has been directly involved in several quality control initiatives, including developing and updating her previous employer’s standard accounting operating procedures, as well as a project to reduce costs by implementing Avid to assist in the processing of Accounts Payable. Rebecca has experience with SOC 1 audit compliance and is directly involved with the accounting portion of our annual company audit. Rebecca has extensive experience with budgeting and operating expense reconciliations and has worked with all types of ownership, both single and multiple building owners.
